The clapping sound, or the smacking of a hand going across it, the smoothness, jiggling motions, and if you've read the Kama Sutra, you'd know it was a sensitive area of the body thats often a sexual stimulator.
And further on, some like the smell, the dimples, the shape, the firmness or fluffiness, etc...

Most significantly, because ancient humans didn't have sex in the "missionary" position. They did it "doggie style", like other primal animals. Therefore, the butt is a primordial signal of potential intercourse.
Additionally, wide hips show that a woman has become fertile, and has room within her skeletal structure to successfully give birth. Most men don't realize that this is what they're looking for when they choose a curvy woman, but it's a simple prehistoric fact of genetic selection, that we humans can't get past.
FYI, breasts, and even bent knees repeat this visual pattern, which is much of the reason why you see women posed on the beach with their legs half-bent.
Someone else answered with a question - "Why do we love muscles?". Well, women choose strong men, because it shows the primordial part of our brains that they will be good protectors and good providers. If they can scare the bear away, or chase the deer for hours at a time, they're better mating material than those who can't.

How can you ask "Why" anything is attractive?
Isn't a bit like asking why we like the taste of sweet foods?
When you ask "why", it implies that to be attractive, parts of the body must have certain qualities. But there's nothing that could determine these qualities - there's no objective measure, since attraction is purely a subjective thing.
There's no "logic" to why anything is attractive. You COULD try and explain things in terms of evolution. For example, large breasts might mean your child will get more milk... a young woman means she is probably more fertile and likely to get pregnant.
But there are so many other features to sexual attraction... hair, smile, long legs (maybe thats just me..) - I don't think there IS a "why".

because its a part of the body that is covered most of the time. There is mystery and seceret to it. Something that you cant have every day, has more allure to it than something visible all the time. its still a "private" area

ah mary those that worship at the temple of the buttocks see it as more than a double scoop of fat and a brown eye. they see it as another opportunity for adventure and pleasure. there is nothing quite as enticeing as those two tender orbs of delight. rub them, tickle them, carress them..and more

Good question. I would guess because from an artistic viewpoint; it's easy on the eyes to see firmness and curvature.
I appreciate looking at a nice butt myself.

It's probably the way it's shaped, and also because it's something that isn't seen very often because it's covered. You can say similar nasty things about genitalia, too. Why in the world people would put them near their mouths can be confusing for some...

Feces comes out of the anus, not the buttocks...which are muscles...the biggest in your body. Who doesn't love muscles? My *** is beautiful, thank you.
