i have heard there is a final fantasy for the DS, now i also heard that you actually can choose the job you want (e.g. warrior) is this true? and if ur friend gets the game as well can the both of us play?

yes . FFIII allows you to alter your job class throughout the game.
There is a system that lets you send messages online, but no multiplayer option.

Final Fantasy III is what your talking about. The system it has is like FFV or Tactics in that you can change your job any time you choose. So you can be a fighter one minute then a black mage the next.
