Mines has gotta be Achilles. I should like Hercules but that was like 10 years ago, lol Disney one is well different from the real one.
But Achilles looks like hes a wicked warrior and character rolled up into one.

Oh, so we both started reading mythology at a young age! I got into it when I was 10. I'll be turning 13 next May!

Well, my favorite hero is Theseus. Besides unflinching courage, he has a desirable knowledge. He uses them not only in battle, but also when he needs to choose between matters of consequence that can change people's lives.
I also like Atalanta. She was not like all the other girls. She decided to differ--instead of always looking beautiful and waiting for her knight in shining armor, like what other girls do--she defied male superiority. She defeated men in matters that was supposed to be their's.

I have to go with Hercules. Great story from murdering his children under the influence of the gods to growing into a living legend and finally getting his place on Olympus. I liked Achillies too. I played him in a play in college. The movie Troy totally killed the real story. If you have only seen the movie, please read the Illiad and the Oddysey. What they should have done is made the movie a trilogy and told the story more accurately. I think it would have rivaled Lord of the Rings.

when I first got into mythology age 11, I liked Sigurd, the hero of the Norse myths who killed the dragon fafnir and rescued the sleeping valkyrie Brynhild.
Later, I discovered celtic myth and liked that even more. I particularly like the sun-god Lugh, the 'man of many-talents'.

She isn't exactly a hero, but a goddess. Artemis, simply because she turned a man into a deer because he saw her naked.
