Biggest fan favorite QB? Leave Joe Namath out because he was different
Biggest fan favorite RB?
Not gonna ask for the biggest fan favorite WR because Jerry Rice is a no brainer and most WR are hated like T.O. and Mike Irvin

My favorite QB is fran tarkenton because he could throw the ball so deep and he was a amazing scrambler.
My favorite running back has gotta be curtis martin. He never had a starting season where he didn't get at least 1000 yards rushing.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT JOE NAMATH WAS DIFFERENT!!!

most players that are loved in one place are hated in another.

but everyone seemed to admire Joe Montana. You can't read 2 answers here without someone saying Brady or Manning sucks (both ridiculous statements). But no one ever bashed Joe - even if you didn't like the 49ers.

as for running back - that's harder. Going way back, I'd say both Jim Brown and Gayle Sayers were universally liked, at least in hindsight. Earl Campbell to a lesser degree.

More recently, Marshall Faulk sort of fits the bill.

Steve Young the guy had to come out of Joe Montana, the greatest quarterback of modern times and be an instant winner and he was.

Jim Brown, the guy retired at his peak and he never took any crap and for the longest time he was the all-time leading rusher. And he hasn't comp;ained one bit about anything since.

QB? Montana, Marino, Elway.

RB? Payton, Barry, Campbell, Faulk, Riggins.... .... a lot of guys

WR. Ton of them too, I know Harrison and Ward have always been fan favorites. I guess because they dont seem to act like your typical WR and they can play.
