Whats really sad is that Americans would actually suspect and not be surprised at this type of activity.
If you want a sure sign of the fact that America is becoming something not good then look no further than the publics ready acceptance of behavior such as this from its elected officials.

Grammatical problems aside, what makes you think he was burning anything, much less evidence? It's an old building with lots of new electrical equipment; it only surprises me that something like this doesn't happen in lots of old buildings. That's why many homeowners spend thousands to update their antiquated electrical wiring, which wasn't designed to support microwave ovens, computers, multiple TV's, digital phones and answering machines, etc, etc, etc. Likewise with nearly every older college and dorm in the USA! (do you know how much power those popcorn makers consume???) ;)

Sometimes its just better to use the paper shredder, but when that gets overused best not to use a lighter to burn incrimination Government documents because things might get out of hand and before you know it the drapes are on fire!!! eeeeek!!

It amazes me how fast people jump to conclusions. No one has claimed the wanted information was destroyed. The visitor logs are maintained by the Secret Service. They have copies too.
