All engine components (fuel pump, fuel injection, spark) rely on consistent voltage. Have your charging system checked and battery as well. When you are starting the car (any car, actually) most of the power is diverted to the starter motor. But there must be enough reserve power to fire up the plugs, coils, FI, relays, pump, at the same time. If it turns out to be your battery that is the weakest link in the chain, try to get a genuine VW (Autobahn) battery. Also, if your car is high mileage (around 100,000) you may need new brushes in your voltage regulator. This item can usually be removed and bench tested easily be removing it from the back of the alternator. Good Luck!!!

I think there is some problem with your car battery. For making a car start, battery should be able to supply enough power to the starter mortar and other components at the same time. So, usually starting a car need more power. If your battery is weak, then it may not be able to supply enough power, and thus leads to not starting of your engine.

Well first you need to make sure you've got a good battery and clean battery cable connections. If your battery is 4 or more years old, I'd recommend buying a new one, but you can have any battery and charging system checked for free at the auto store where you buy the battery. The wire brush type below is used to clean the cable connectors once they're removed from the battery. You could have a bad connection at the battery terminals.
