why doesn't the censor cheat work in the the sims 2?

i've downloaded the patch for it and it still doesn't work?! i don't understand WHY!!!

If all you have is the base game it should work unless they changed the coding in more recent releases of the game. It doesn't work with Nightlife or later expansions installed and probably not with any of the stuff packs.

There isn't a censor cheat that I know of; you need a game mod in order to get rid of the blur.
