Myself, I'm starting to get tired of this....

The problem is, Stella, I have had this picture of who I'd wanted in the back of my mind -- for perhaps 20 years or more -- and the picture of that person fell into the shadows for a long while as more practical concerns took hold. Paying for rent, getting a real job, schooling, etc. Then I married out of practicality, and children come along, and you must be practical for the children!, but all the while, that woman in the back of my head was always there, and I never realized she'd never go away, and my wife never became that woman, so I sometimes blame her for that -- wrongly. Perhaps that mystical person does not exist -- but every now and then I will bump into a woman who seems like that mystical person, and here I am, chained to REALITY -- rent, job, children -- and I wonder, "what if," but know it's, "I can't." And I lash out at REALITY. And that's unfair to the people in reality. It's not them that's disappointing us, it's us, disappointed in where we are -- too weak to escape reality.
