Does it seem as if the Democrats have dropped the ball and are no longer committed to getting our troops out of Iran?

Do you feel that the real issues are being discussed openly and honestly? Or is it business as usual and let's not upset the economy and bad mouth the country?

What changes would you like to see?

Is the U.S. Presidency for sale? Can an honest candidate of the people win?

EDIT FOR "TD' Yes, I think sometimes you need to upset the apple cart and deal with the real issues instead of ignoring the hard work needs to be done.

Sorry, of course I meant getting the troops out of Iraq, not Iran. Just an inadvertant typo.

TD - I don't usually post directly in answer to another post more than just as an edit, but for crying out loud! I've watched Gene's posts for months, and I'd put him up against any "patriot" out here. As said elsewhere, the FOUNDING FATHERS upset the economy for the sake of change. Are you saying they hated the country they created? Give me a break.

Gene - yes. I'd like to see the actual issues discussed, instead of the horse race. Also, I'm feeling strong reservations about some of the saber rattling. I was heartened when Obama said he would not jump to Gunboat Diplomacy first, but the mainstream candidates do seem to be cooling off on disentangling us from that mess.

I was reading last night about Joe Biden. I think he has the chops, but not a chance of getting on the ticket. He's an insider, which gives him pragmatic experience. However, it makes that question of just who he is beholden to crop up.

I think he'd balance Obama well...his experience and Obama's charisma. IF they would work closely...
I like some things about several of them, but also dislike something about each of them.

I think they are honest, mostly, but way better at politics than at getting to the POINT.

the Democrats did drop the ball. In 2006, there was an outcry to bring the troops home.... This was reflected in the election. The problem is, once elected, these people are to concerned about getting reelected that nothing else seems to matter to them. Certainly not the will of their constituents.

the U.S. Presidency has been for sale for some time. It is now being run by corporations, not people.

Honest people cannot be elected. They don't have enough money. I would like to see a change that would allow a middle class citizen of this country to be elected. Right now, that is impossible.

I'm not so much frustrated with the election process as I am the voters. There are far too many people who take what they hear on tv and read in the paper as the truth. Most of the time it's opinion.
I wish people would take the time to look at the issues, I don't care if you're Republican or Democrat, I just want people making informed decisions.
I think a candidate of the people can win, but people will complain anyway.

Yes, and for two reasons, one is because the rich can buy them and the other is that the electoral college system allows a candidate with a minority of votes nationally to steal an election like Bush did the first time he ran, and maybe the second time too.

Issues are never spoken honestly, democrats never picked up the ball and it will be business as usual. An honest person cannot get elected anymore with out allot of money and connections to the right people.

And why do think it's a good idea to upset the economy and bad mouth the country? Only liberals who hate the U.S. would see that as positive things.

Since you think we have troops in Iran, it's no surprise that you get other facts wrong too. Your willingness to paint the U.S as evil and see our economy damaged exposes you as a traitor.
