Try Melatonin... it's over the counter, non habit forming and you can take up to 10mgs at night to help you sleep! I try to not stick with one thing repeatedly ... Tylenol one night melatonin the next... don't give your body a chance to get use to it and build up a resistance.
Good Luck Hon!
Valerian will help too.

I take sleep aides at night because I have a child that can stay awake until his bus comes in th A.M . Tylenol pm is not addictive as far as your body becoming dependent on it ( needing it to a point of withdraw ) but I'm sure that if you get into the habit of taking them everynight it would make it harder to sleep without them and you also have to remember that it is still tylenol ( a pain reliever ) therefore it can't be great on the liver if taken ever night. There are sleep aides that are just that minus the pain reliever and also you can find things at the gnc or local health food store that are all natural ( for me I have to take those for awhile before they work but honestly I'm in a very noisy house. Good luck and I hope you get some rest!

Tylenol PM is not good to use regularly and it is expensive. You can use melatonin which is a natural sleep aide, you can find this at most grocery stores and any health food store. Melatonin is a chemical your body naturally produces to help you sleep. There are also a lot of things you should do in your home to improve the quality of your sleep. It is said women need 7 hours and men need 7.5 hours. Keep a night light in your bathroom, if you get up to go to the bathroom and you turn on a bright light, your body will automatically start the waking up process making it harder to go back to sleep. Also do not drink a lot of fluids before bed. Try a noise machine near your bed to play sounds that calm you, such as ocean sounds etc, this will help drown out the noise outside that is keeping you awake. There is a great book, You: Staying Young. This book has so many great tips, I found it on overstock.com and amazon.com for under $12.

Too much Tylenol, i.e., using every day, is not good for you, particularly if you are taking prescription meds.
Remember, too, Tylenol PM is for PAIN and sleep - if you are not in pain, you are ingesting pain medication for no reason.
Try setting an earlier time for dinner - then a light after dinner walk; then a hot bath - before bed.
I also ALWAYS drink a large glass of water before bed - believe me it works.
If that doesn't work, ask your doctor to recommend something to be certain you are taking no chances with your health.

I usually only sleep 6 hours a night, so by midnight, I'm ready to hit the sack. I usually have a little shot of brandy and that will put me over the top. ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Then I'm wide awake by 6am... The other night I actually slept 8 hours and I was groggy all day long.
No, I don't need no stinking pills.
BTW, I live 50 ft. from the RR tracks and I sleep right through the 3am freight trains.

I don't take anything to help me sleep, because I don't want to get addicted to anything. I have seen the commercial for Tylenol PM, & it says they aren't habit forming. Try it a couple nights & see if they help. I usually stay on the computer until I get heavy eyelids then I get into bed.

My husband takes those every night and they help him sleep. They are more mentally habit forming than physically I think. I live between a freeway and railroad tracks, so it can get quite noisy. When the noise bothers me I just use earplugs.

Yes I take something to aid in sleep. Many people w/fibro need a temporary or long term help with sleep. As the sleep/pain cycle feed off each other.

Be careful with tylenol PM because tylenol is metabolized by the liver. If you take a lot of tylenol, have your liver functions checked out at some point. If the probably is noise, try some wax ear plugs to block out the noise. They worked for me.

I have allergies so usually take a Benadryl at night and it helps me sleep.
What keeps me from sleeping at night can't be cured with pills. I sometimes have a hard time turning off the switch if my mind is seriously thinking about a problem, especially one that involves children or grandchildren. And that's a sleepless night.
