How do I get it off? Would it just be easier to repaint the wall? It's a huge area of that wall. I'm pregnant so I don't really have the energy to work on it for hours. Someone please help me. Thanks!

Mr. Clean magic eraser does nothing but fall apart when you are trying to scrub sharpie marker from the wall. Wd-40 doesn't work, either.

I'm afraid that the only option is to repaint.

Use Mr. Clean's magic eraser for the walls but be carefull not to scrub too hard. Or there is a product called Goo Gone it is safer than the eraser and works for pretty much anything. I've used it for pen and crayon on walls.

For the couch use hairspray! Spray some onto a cloth and dab it onto the couch, rinse with a clean cloth after. I had to use this for pen ink on our kitchen chairs after my daughter drew on them, it works wonders!!

Repaint, but before you do, get a bucket of soapy water and some sponges, make the kids try to clean it off the wall. Once they spend a few hours working on it they probably will remember not to do it again!!!

There is a product called Awesom. You can get it at most dollar stores and also Dollar General. It is amazing what all it cleans. I know for a fact it works because my niece did the same thing at my house and it took it right off, even after taking two weeks to find something that worked.

It even gets grass stains out of clothes, removes soap scum from showers & tubs.

Trust me get it and you won't be disappointed!!

Like many other posters, I would suggest the Magic Eraser. It got red paint off of our wall, but it did take off some of the original paint underneath as well. It doesn't show very much.

(It also gets black clothing dye out of light-colored kitchen counters)

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser may work, BUT I've also had it take the paint off as well as the stain/mark too! So, go slow if you go that route. Otherwise, repaint.

First of all, take the @#$% sharpies away from them. Then make THEM clean the walls or at least make them work at it.

My Bible of household cleanups:
http://www.heloise.com/hints.html

I've used a ton of her hints and haven't run into any that didn't work yet. 3 kids, 1 auto mechanic hubby, 2 dogs and a cat, and so far, none of it shows on the carpet, walls or windows...*giggle*
Good Luck!
