i just took a pregnancy test and the results were a dark blue line in an oval and nothing in the circle. the thing is, i don't have the box and have no idea what the brand of it is b/c it was a spare test from a few months ago.

so are all pregnancy tests the same??
usually one line is negative and two lines (or a +) is positive?

please let me know.
I DON'T WANT TO BE PREGNANT - FYI

If there were two windows, and one had a line in it, that might have been the control window.

It's hard to say scince we have no idea what kind of test it is or what it looks like.

But if there was nothing in the second window, then it might mean either 1. it is negitive or 2. maybe the test didn't work properly. Even if their is a line in the control window showing the test is working their should have been something in the other window.

Maybe you should try a different test.

That is a negative test result! You may want to retake the test in a couple of weeks just to make sure. When I was pregnant the test didn't show a positive until I was 2 weeks past the conception.

It's usually two lines if it's one of the same tests I've taken. I took about 5 before I was certain I was pregnant. Yes, it's alot of money for those tests, but so worth knowing!

Might be best to go buy a new test and check again, but yes, usually the single line is the "check line" to confirm the test worked.

I'd suggest if tyou want to stay non pregnant use the pill AND condoms for extra protection

Normally 1 line means that you are not pregnant. I would suggest taking another test however just to make sure that you truly are not pregnant.

there are SO many types its hard to tell. when we found out with our son we bought two different brands and the results were all positive but the tests looked completely different. tests arent too expensive(2-10 bucks ) so go buy another one. good luck hun!!

I'm assuming the oval is just the control. If there was nothing in the circle, then you're not pregnant.
