He is a great talent but anyone can easily be overshadowed by those of equal talent. Rush is a great band known for great lyrics and an overall great sound - many people love the uniqueness of Geddy Lee's voice. For Rush, the 'voice' stands out and so do the lyrics and Peart writes the bulk of them. Lifeson is just as talented as the other band members, he certainly is no weak link but when the band is taken as a whole, he is overshadowed.

Alex Lifeson is awesome. He's maybe just not as demonstrative as the other two. He's definitely NOT a weak link. Imagine Rush trying to get by without him! Anyway, Geddy Lee is funny lookin'!

I think he is very underrated. I had the pleasure of sitting 2nd row on his side of the stage at Alpine Valley. He made the most amazing, humorous rock guitar poses. It seems like he was mocking the whole rock Guitar god things. When he would bend a string he would point at it with his picking hand and do a little toe tap. It was so fun watching him. He made his playing look so effortless. I watched Rush In Rio hoping he would make some of the same moves, but I don't remember that he did. He' snever been flash and speed, but very tasteful and subtle. I love the solo in Limelight.

He is an amazing guitarist. I think its because when Rush was at their peak, you have to look at all of the other amazing guitarists that came out at the same time. While they were out and in your face, Alex was just sitting back and not in the "limelight" <<

Florida security guards give him plenty of respect.

I think he is an amazing guitarist as well... and he has great classical guitar talents, as evidenced at the beginning of 'A Farewell To Kings'.

Naysayers... say nary a thing of value.

I didn't realize that this was the case. I think they're all equally talented and I don't know why someone would think lesser of Alex...
