In june i got a high ankle sprain playing volleyball. I stayed off of it the rest of the summer and in aug played a game. it started to hurt so i stoped. the whole time i was in physical therapy. I came back in sept and started lightly exercising with my basketball team, thought i was ready and played a game. the next day at conditioning we were back peddling on the football field and i injured it again. I have been in a hard cast with no pressure on it since nov. it comes off jan 7th. how long will it take to recover? will i be playing by leauge which is the beg of feb?

Normally about 12 weeks of therapy.. But if then you don't notice any difference you may want the Dr. to check for something more serious..

Had the same problem when I was in the military. Tape your ankle whenever possible. Not just an ACE bandage, but athletic tape. Have your coach or athletic trainer show you how. You'll need physical therapy and it will take months for you to be 100%.

12 weeks for improvement, but more like 6-8 months for total relief.

Maybe you should lay off sports until it heals. Give your body a rest.
