I have always contacted the person or company I owe and tell them I can only afford to make payments. Don't let them push you into an amount you can't afford to pay. I have found they would rather have some monies than no monies.
Good Luck.
PS You will not go to prison. I would however follow up on the court summons just so they know you are not avoiding them. They may come get you for that.

No, debtors prison was eliminated years ago. The only way to be imprisoned for nonpayment of debts is if you obtained the debts fraudulently and are indicted. This is unlikely in your case.
Sometimes the undesirable step of a personal bankruptcy is the best answer. You may be able to qualify for a chapter 7 bankruptcy in which your debts are canceled. Even if you file under chapter 13, you should get considerable relief.

No, prison is not likely in this case. You better place a prayer before the court stating the fact that you unable to repay the debt at this moment, although, you have the intention to do so as soon as you can in instalments.I am sure, the verdict will be in your favour.

It does not. yet while the fee is paid, there is not extra debt stunning. Does it count if your mom will pay your tax bill, or no longer? you're absolved and could no longer bypass to penitentiary. And if your mom loves you adequate to forgive you, then you definately are somewhat fortunate, relatively if she supplies it to you as a present day. of direction the information is which you will study out of your mistake, it is plenty extra effective than in basic terms chucking all people in penitentiary, isn't it. it fairly is all slightly present day to me - slightly too liberal like.

They cannot send you to prison, but they can garnish your wages. I would go to court and explain your case to the judge. That is what the summons is for. Send an answer to the court and schedule an appearance, and let the judge decide what payments you can afford to make to them.

prison not likely unless they are court debts. since you are on disability it may be hard to be given community service if they are court deabts. if they are not court debts but other ones try to consolidate it through a outside company to try and make one payment a month that you can afford

no, not in this country, they will garnish your wages, or seize some property. The best thing to do is work out a payment plan.
