Huntsville, AL is called rocket city because of its very long history of rocket and space reseach. In Huntsville is the US Space and Rocket Center, which is home to Space Camp, Aviation Challenge and NASA's Official Visitor Information Center for Marshal Space Flight Center.

NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center is in Huntsville. Boeing also has a rocket engine plant over in Decatur, right next door.

Threes a military base nearby they have the history of the technology and all that rocket and missile stuff.
I went on a vacation there when I was a 10 or so to see my uncle who was in the service.
We had pictures that we took of the area and some I recall did not come out. So I assume there is alot of science and such in the area of Huntsville Al.

It's not only the home of the Marshall Space Flight Center, it is the home of the Redstone Arsenal, with its numerous munitions manufacturing plants.
