Other than a free trip for the players, no vets really want to go. Last year I suggested how about changing it to a rookie and second year player game. Let all the rookies go and play and see some of the players you never get to see during the season. The name brand star players never show up with their game anyways. Either change it or drop it. Also, how many viewers actually watch it? WAY WAY less every year,

Voice of Reason, none of the top name players want to go. Just look at the stories that will be coming out in the next month. They hate it.

The game was moved to Hawaii in hopes of getting better player participation. But after a long season, even a free trip to sun and fun isn't enough. This could be a game that is farmed out to Europe as another means to market the product.

It depends what you want... If you want an event that celebrates the stars of football and gives them some recognition, it's fine.

If you want a pure football game with playoff intensity, forget about it.

The difference here is a football EVENT vs. a football GAME. it's also a great excuse to go to Hawaii in the winter!

personally, I would rather see an all "free agent" game. Those guys would be motivated because they're playing for the money, which is what they REALLY care about.

I can't believe no one listened to your suggestion!

It is a waste of time - these guys are all millionaires, so a free trip to Hawaii is not a big deal. Just listing the names of the all-pro's are sufficient.

Football is a violent game. All-Star games are friendly. The two concepts don't mix.

personally i dont think the pro bowl is a big deal- it doesnt have a meaning
i think it would be great to have rookies and second year players- so they can met other young players like they are, get good relationships .. and met up and make new friends

The Pro bowl isn't for the fans, it's for the players. It's not the game, it's the selection.

Big waste of time. I equate it to the home run derby in MLB and the dunk contest in the NBA. It's like a little side-bar exhibition.

Wait... what vets don't want to go?

They go there and have a blast and bring family and friends and are recognized for being the best in the league. I think you need to get your information correct.

Every all star game is a waste of time.

yeah it is. after several appearances, playes could care less. same thing w/ the nba all star. its huge, however, after numerous appearances and fanfare, players just want to use there down time to stay home, catch some R & R
