you might want to put something like magazines or music in your bag for partner if he gets bored (men tsk!) and for you after if you are in hospital for a while. also snacks and drinks might be an idea so you can both keep your energy levels up.
oh and you didnt mention a towel for if you shower etc!please
(note that in the uk the hospital do not stock anything at all for baby! and only hospital gowns for mum)

I would take out the pjs and nighty for yourself because you don't want blood or other stuff to get on them and the hospital will give you a new gown whenever you want. The hospital also gave me all the maternity pads I needed too. I wouldn't worry about bringing wipes, diapers, etc., because the hospital will provide you all of that and also send some home with you. The vests, babygros (not sure what that is) and bibs aren't really necessary either. I guess every hospital can be different but I had packed a huge bag with my 1st and barely used anything in it. I'm 22 weeks w/ #2 and will just pack a small bag this time and realize that my hubby can go home and bring me anything I think I need while I'm in the hospital. Don't forget to have your carseat in the car for the ride home. Good luck!

There are plenty of things I would like to put into and take out of your bag, for instance, I wouldn't bring a thing for the baby, just an outfit for taking pictures in and an extra blanket for the trip home as it will be freezing here, also, I would take out the nighty, because you wouldn't want to ruin one of yours (you'll be bleeding the whole time you are in the hospital), and I would put in chapstick and hard candies as well as your favorite flavor of Gatorade, I'm bringing a pen and some paper in case there is anything i want to write down and keep and also my baby book so that I can keep records, and Christmas cards for the nurses (if I go into labor that early, if not then I am taking Thank You cards.) But the thing is, every hospital is different, we were going to deliver at a different facility where I needed a million more things, but we switched for other reasons and now need different things, I suggest touring your hospital's maternity ward and asking the nursing staff (NOT YOUR OB) what they would suggest.

I would add some chapstick. After labor both times, I had dry lips from chewing my lips and breathing hard.
Extra batteries for your camera.
Calling card if you will be calling out of towners.
A robe if you don't want to walk the hospital halls in just your pjs.
A razor for shaving (even if only underarms).
I would also take your babybook if you're doing one. If you feel up to it you may want to jot down some things while they are fresh on your mind... such as.. some books ask who the baby's 1st visitors were and first gifts, etc..
Also, if your hospital does 1st pics, you may want to pack a nice outfit for that.
That's all I can think of at the moment. Hope it helps some!
Good luck!~

I'm not sure I'd worry about the bibs, but then again, we didn't start using bibs until our daughter started baby food.
If you want (some people are against then) you might take a pacifier. My daughter started sucking her fingers in her basinet and would get frustrated so she had to have a pacifier from day one.
I'd say take a nice pillow for yourself. I ended up sleeping through about 6 hours of my labor. Maybe a CD or DVD player for when you're awake. Or just a book you've been wanting to read.
I was glad to have make-up for going home photos.
Comfortable bra.
Next time I think I'll take a BAT to hit my Mother-in-law with when she decides she's going to camp out in my room for 12 hours, UNINVITED!

That sounds about right to me!!
with my first i had to stay in hospital longer than i planned due to an unplanned c-section and ran out of stuff real quick so when i had my second i packed another bag with extra nappies/baby`s clothes/an extra nightie for me/my clothes and underwear so if i had to stay in a little longer than planned i could ask hubby to bring in the spare bag.
worked for me anyway!
good luck

Sounds good to me and it's exactly whats in mine although I only have a couple of nappies and a trial pack of wipes as I assume that the hospital will provide all of this while I'm there. I was told to take CD's as they have players but the music collection is poor and although they say take money as you can't use your mobile my best friend is a sister at a large hospital and she says it's a load of rubbish as they all use theirs, it was apparently more for the old mobile which weren't as efficient as they are now and the hospitals make a fortune for charging you to use those made phone/TV thingies they have now.

Sounds like you have things under control, I always say that no matter what you are doing or packing for you always forget one thing or another anyway. As far as the baby goes they are gonna have things there for you to take care of him or her so don't worry about a big bag just pack what you want the baby to wear home and or have the picture taken in at the hospital.

Like some of the women have already stated the hospital usually provides about everything you need for the baby...diapers, wipes, formula, clothing, all you will need for the baby is a comming home outfit and maybe some pacifiers if you are using them....oh and an outfit for pictures....Good Luck

I would add some hard candy (for when your inlabor and mouth keeps getting dry) also maybe some powerade you may get tired of water or ice chips. And keep what you have for the baby, most hospitals in the U.S will only give the one outfit and blanket, but no bibs, mittens, or any of that. If they do end up giving you all that then great, but if they dont atleast you have that stuff. Everything seems good. Goodluck and congrats
