Why do you people make such a big thing out of "Phaedophilia"?

"Child abuse" this and that... what about the tens of thousands of people (MANY CHILDREN) that die every single day in the world due to needless causes? Truth is, you only care about people in YOUR society, people who YOU relate to, those dying children are worthles to you, you'd rather make a big fuss about this "child abuse". It's not the worst darn thing in the world, if i could choose between growing up watching my parents fade away, my siblings starve to death and than die myself or to be molestered, I'd choose the molestation in a heartbeat.

About 6000 children alone die everyday in the world due to lack of clean water and sanitation. Why don't you go ranting on about that?

Ive worked in a third world country when i was 20 as a volunteer and i seen some horrible things i saw people die from desease and children with no arms and legs begging on the street and it was horrible but thats why i was there to help.There is no excuse for child abuse people in the 3rd world country's can only be helped in a big way by there own governments.Volunteers can help a little bit but unless the governments of the countrys help in a big way then things will change very slowly and there is not much we can do in the western world.We can give money but it never goes very far.

There is no excuse for nonces they are teh pinnacle of evil and should all be hung like they would have been in the olden days.They shouldnt even be treated for a mental illness just exterminated.

I understand your point however as a mother of 4 I cannot agree when you state that you would take "molestation over the worlds problems.

Charity begins at home, the only way that we can help the poorer nations is through education and business savvy - aid is only short term. So if you feel so aggrieved and you obviously have no children, then become a volunteer and make a difference!

I think it is because the thought of an adult having sexual tendancies towards a child goes against everything that every decent human being believes in.

Yes, children throughtout the world are dying from things that could be prevented if there was the money or rescourses in the country where they lived to prevent it.

As a parent, I would hate to think that my children had been abused then had to suffer the torment of that everyday for the rest of their lives.

I really hope that you are a misguided person and not some sort of wierdo that we all warn our children to stay away from.

Maybe if these parents that have starving children would learn what birth control is they wouldn't have these poverty and overpopulation problems. And then perhaps they wouldn't feel the need to send their children to the "gods" after they are born (kill them) like they do in India because they have too many.

Getting molested is hardly a more desirable option. What you're saying is to be rich and subject to sexual and psychological abuse is much better. Please get a life, and a brain.

You are right that MORE people should think about children in less fortunate parts of the world. Some of us care about children both here and there though so be careful not to lump all of us together.

Maybe the majority of common people though just cannot comprehend the reality in those places. Maybe it is just too far from their own world that they cannot understand it and they don't think about it except when the rare ad pops up on tv. Also, the situation in many of those places is so overwhelming that people do not think or see a way they could help or make any difference. They don't think about donating regularly to charities that build wells and have immunization programs and educate people on disease prevention.

I think people care so much about protecting children in their own society, because they see the children clearly and they know that there are ways they can help. Humans are social creatures. We have a natural instinct to protect children. No, we don't go banging on peoples doors and checking to make sure that all the children inside are ok. But, if we are in a situation to see it we rush in to help.

That behavior is seen in several different situations. For example, I know my friend TK would never bother thinking of volunteering at a shelter for abused women and children, but last week he saw a man getting physical with a woman and he rushed in to help her. If a person sees something going on clearly in front of them, they tend to instinctively want to help. If they don't see it though, that instinct doesn't always kick in.

OK. so putting innocent children as young as newborn, through sexual abuse in our society is not more important than starving kids etc etc. You havnt got kids have you? If you did then you would know what priorities are. My children are my life and it would scare the hell out of me to think they were open to any kind of abuse, not just sexual.

Who are these 'you people' you are going on about? I think you are a teenager who's been spoon-fed all his life and knows nothing about anything. That includes spelling. You certainly don't sound like you've ever been molested or you wouldn't treat it with such contempt. Sadly, the starving millions are outside most people's control. They can only watch helplessly or give money to charities who are trying to assist these poor people. Instead of sitting at your PC whining, why don't you join one of these charities and do something useful with your life.

Because it's a lovely city - whoops...excuse me. Thinking of summat else. Child abuse is not only scuzzy...but is something taken on by homo sapien - not 'mother nature', or even God. Taking advantage of wee bairns in parts of the world where we think we're the more 'superior' is surely something that makes me sick...and the more it happes, the more most of us will 'rant'. You would choose to be molested in a heartbeat? That is sick! Children who are victims of pedophiles are subject to horrible degradation. No human being in their right mind would ever wish that for themselves.

As for people starving in this world, that's another horror. But it is a totally separate issue from child molestation.

With regards to world hunger, the first thing we need to do is control overpopulation. Countries that cannot feed themselves must stop having children they cannot provide a life for. Babies are being born into starvation and that's something we can control. It's a drastic measure that calls for birth control and/or sterilization to stem the population explosions in these countries.

Then, we need to educate people. Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime. We need to teach people how to cultivate land, grow crops, irrigate, harvest, and safely distribute the food.
