The original xbox was released in 2001, the 360 was released in 2005. If MS follows its current trend there could be another console in 2009. But with the current technology, the next-gen consoles are built for a longer lifecycle than previous ones.
There' s no definite answer to the question, but you could see news or glimpses of the next console maybe in 2009 or 2010.

Personally, I think the 360 will be Microsoft's last console. The original xbox did nothing but bleed money for Microsoft and the 360 is doing the same with the red ring of death fiasco that has cost them over 1 billion dollars so far.
But if I am wrong and Microsoft does come out with a new console, it probably won't be out any sooner than 3 years from now.

Unknown. It will probably be a while. The 360 has only been on the market for a couple of years and is still a strong competitor against the PS3 and Wii.

Honestly, I don't think they need to come out with a new system. The 360 is very popular not to mention it's amazing graphics that totally wipe out the ps3's lame ones. But on E3 they didn't suggest anything about a new system and if you want to know anything about it, well E3 is the place to go. But i wouldn't worry about it, the 360 kicks butt no doubt about it yo.
