The answer is Brady should not win the MVP, for the exact reason you site. Even back-up Matt Cassell, with the talent on that team, would have done as well. A quarterback that can stand in the pocket and have lunch before deciding to throw the ball, is not the valuable one. This takes nothing away from Brady, but it does not make him the MVP of the league.

This is a dumb question. Brady is having a better season clearly. And if you replaced Brady with Eli, you're right you'll win the division. But you won't be undefeated. And you won't win the superbowl. You're right. MVP is stats, which is exactly why Brady should win it. If he doesn't win it the award is a joke. He's putting up record numbers right now. LT put up some reacord numbers last year, and he won the MVP. You put up record numbers you win the MVP unless somebody else is putting up different and better record numbers (This is the boat Moss is in, luckily for them, they're on the same team.) And you could take Moss away, but it isn't like Favre has no weapons. His recieving core is good too, not as good but good. And if you take away Randy Moss you add another WR, Chad Jackson? Troy Brown? You still have a good WR, and if it weren't for Moss Stallworth would be more of an impact. You take Moss away Brady still has great numbers. Brady should clearly win this award, and if you can't see why then you're a moron.

Without Moss Brady would still be the best QB in the league. This guy dragged the Givens, Pattens and Branches of the world into the Super bowl year after year. The fact that this is the first year he has a real receiving corps and his numbers are so far through the roof shows how good he is. Moss is on pace for his best season ever- don't forget that side of it. And Brady has done it with just as little running game as Favre has had.
And Favre already got 1 MVP too many- should have never shared it with Barry Sanders when he had 2000+ yards.

Despite the stat comparison Brady is having the better season, and the argument of putting another Qb in and saying that they would get the same results is absurd. Your all forgetting the one thing that a Qb and the rest of the team needs and that is the chemistry between them. if a QB does not have faith or likes a receiver that affects the team as well. and same with a receiver I mean look at T.O. He has bashed several QB's including Romo. If you have to talk bad about your own QB who is the teams leader than there is no chemistry there and it makes the performance suffer. Brady and the rest of the Pats have a good chemistry. Thats why Brady is able to put up these numbers and deserve the MVP.

If you took away Moss, Brady would still be having an outstanding year, as good as anyone in the league. Who did he throw to in the Ravens game? the 4th or 5th receiver!
Favre benefits from Driver and several other guys.
Favre is having a great year, but this year Brady deserves the MVP

there is no reason to believe that the patriots would be as good as they are without brady. it doesn't matter how good the recieving is, if the qb can't throw a catchable pass, it won't be caught. brady is the reason for the pats success. He throws the ball most of the downs and is the best in the league at throwing short passes and completing them almost every single down. without him the pats would still probably win the division with no other teams good enough to challenge them, but they definitely wouldn't be playing for homefield maybe not even for a first round bye. and he does have the best stats in the league and are you going to not give it to him just because his team has done great at picking up free agents

No team could win with Eli Manning, he wasn't adopted he was aborted.
As far as brady vs farve I think brady has had a better season than farve and has still remained undefeated. Farve cant even beat the Cowboys. When you compair how many good teams new england has played(sure they have had some bad teams too, but they have also played teams like Pittsburg, At Indy at Dallas) and you look at how he performed in those games vs how many good teams Green Bay has played(at Dallas) and look at how Farve performed in that game I think the answer is pretty clear.

To say that Eli would do the same on the Patriots as Brady show you have no clue what you are talking about.
Brady reads D as good, if not better, than Peyton Manning and Manning is well known for it.
You're argument is flawed right form the start and you expose yourself as a Brady hater or just plain dumb.

this is hard- both players are big and great and able to help anyteam win
i think with the great wrs brady has it easy
i think farve- to do it at an older age is amazing
he is getting his team the wins that no one though they would do- people knew the patriots would have a good season but packers no they didnt so i think favre deserves it ... but stat wise it brady- because of moss able to catch anything

look at the stats you posted and the pats are 14 and 0. 45 td's and 6 int's? that's impossible. i think you are right in that those two are the best candidates, but it's brady, easy. he's having a year like no QB ever has had and his team is unbeaten. i'll give favre honorable mention, but mvp is brady easy....(i'm not a pats fan either).
