You can read the beginning of his column decrying the mitchell report on espn.com. It is not mentioned anyplace in that column that he was the ghostwriter for Roger Clemens autobiography.

Well, why NOT question Peter Gammons integrity? The guy has been around athletes a long time to see them get bigger. What has he ever investigated and written about phenomenon?

But I have an open mind, I'm sure there are archives of his writings where one can provide me links showing where Gammons is a sportswriter of integrity.

Otherwise, I view him as an example as part of the problem of cheating with steroids/HGH/EPO ect in sports.

He called the trainer who outed Clemens and Petitte a "sewer rat." Something bad has happened to him. It's like he lost his mind. I've lost a ton of respect for Gammons because of this. He talks like a player.

Gammons hardly was a ghostwriter on "Rocket Man" -- his name is clearly listed on the cover. I'd guess it probably sells maybe 100 copies a year now (if it's even still in print), so I doubt Pete is worried about his annual royalties payment if Clemens totally goes down in flames. Besides, the (now inevitable) sequel will sell all the better.

I'm more pissed at Gammons for how he relentlessly stumped for Vaughn for the 1995 AL MVP based upon what a community pillar he was, as if that should have any bearing on a baseball award. Either Martinez or Belle were clearly better choices.

Gammons is a writer, isn't he? Those guys are both madams and prostitutes. Ol' Mumbles Gammons is one of the leaders of the pack. Whatever they have in their heads they will do. They are just another group in MLB whose themes song is: Screw the Fans -- They Don't Know Nothin' Anyway.

You might be the first person to ever question Peter Gammons' integrity.

He's a Hall of Fame sports journalist, writer and broadcaster.

Probably one of the most knowledgeable to ever cover the game.

Gammons does shose to take it a little easy on this subject but I think it is more bc of his love of the game. He want of Roger to be innocent may blind him a little. I don't think that this is an integrety issue.

KRIS above me is absolutely correct. Where do you get off asking this question?
