In most places the new ballparks are great. But Wrigly and Fenway should never be moved. If you have to play somewhere else for a year and remodel if you must. This is what the Yanks should have done. They did it once. It sucked but it is a travesty that the Cathedral is closing and the Yanks will no longer be playing on the same hallowed ground that Ruth Dimaggio and Mantle played on. I know the field is a few feet higher than it once was but the plate is still at the same geographic location it has always been. I have been to almost every park in baseball and once you get to your seat at 'The Stadium' it is the best park around. There is no place that the grass is greener, that is more picturesc or gives you goosebumps like the stadium. Now that will all go away at the end of the season.

Definitely new! If you've ever been to Citizen's Bank Park in Philly you know how much better it is than the Vet. The openness of it all and the concourse surrounding....it's just a different feel, and you can view the game pretty much at all times, not like being inside like at Yankees stadium now. I bet the new Yankee stadium they are building will incorporate that openness that the CBP has. Or at least I hope they do!

It depends on which modern stadium it is. The SFS and Suncorp are pretty good but ANZ on the other hand, is horrible. A lot of traditional grounds are great for atmosphere but some of them are very uncomfortable. Of all the stadiums Ive been to though, SFS is my favourite followed closely by Brookie oval

The traditionalist in me says the old parks, but the new parks are great. The worst parks are the ones from the multi-purpose donuts from the late 50s to the early 80s like Cinci's Riverfront, Pitt's 3 Rivers, St. Louis' Busch, etc...

I liked the classic stadiums back when there was only a few of them. Now it seems every team has them and they all look the same.

Who goes to a ball game to see the park? I always thought people went to see the teams play?
That said, I guess I prefer the older parks, especially ones I've been to before, because of the history and personal memories. But that's just me.
