I love seeing the joy in my loved ones eyes when I give them a gift. Unfortunately, the past couple of years, it's been hard to get everyone something. I've even used gift certificates that my employer has given me to buy gifts for others. So, to answer your question, giving gifts makes me feel better.

It depends on the year. This year it will be giving them, partly because I got my husband a laptop for Christmas (and it is our first Christmas as husband and wife). There have been times, though, where my family has gotten me such a great gift or gifts that in my eyes overwhelmed whatever it was I got them.
To me, I guess the point of Christmas together isn't so much giving or receiving as it is sharing. Sharing memories, sharing moments with your family and friends, sharing food and laughter, sharing love and joy. Giving gifts is just an extension of your affection and appreciation for them, and receiving gifts from them is an extension of their affection and appreciation for you. That love and that sharing is more important than the actual gifts every single time.
At least that's the way I look at it.

GIVING! I really don't care about the presents I get, as long as everyone is happy with what I give them. It's Christmas and it should always be more about giving than receiving.

Giving. I woke up this morning SO excited for Christmas and realized that what I was excited about was seeing my parent's and brother's reactions to their presents, not about actually getting presents. Though of course I'm going to like and be grateful for anything anyone gives me

I like giving gifts if I am close to the person and can get them something I know they will appreciate and enjoy. And I always enjoy getting gifts from the few people who always seem to know what to get to make you happy. My mom is the best gift giver ever! You can't help but love getting gifts from her!

Giving most diffinitely! I love seeing the joy on my friends faces when they open their gifts and see something that they love. Be it a gift certificate that I printed up for a homemade meal, a couple of boxes of green tea.

Both. I have 13 young kids to buy for so I guess for me giving is better... the look on their faces when they open my gift to them is usually priceless.

I don't care for receiving gifts at all. I never get anything good, so i prefer to give them. I like seeming people smile when they open my gifts up :)
