Love it...and as a traveling family, remember getting 'care packages' from landlocked mum that included a Crosse & Blackwell pud in a little glazed ceramic bowl...steamed for yonks and eaten thisquick [groaning with joy] with what we called 'hard sauce' - brandy butter? - made with sweet butter, castor sugar, nip of vanilla & biggie nip of Demon Rum...chilled to firm and served in slice on top of pudding serving. Ohhhhh bliss. Envy those who know how to make their own pudding...I'm still out there shopping for mine!

Tc says it's puke inducing and stomach churning....I would be a bit more polite and just say "no, we don't like Christmas pud" and brandy butter is eugh, so we'll just have the cream then lol. I absolutely love Stollen but can't find any without either rum or brandy in it which Tesco used to do one without but they haven't got it this year...don't like the taste of brandy or rum. We don't have what you'd call a proper Christmas dinner either...we usually have whatever we fancy coz we eat little and often so a big dinner like that is a waste coz we wouldn't be able to eat it. Christmas pud might be traditional but we prefer a Viennetta or something similar in the ice-cream line. Yummy!

It's actually very nice cold the next day with brandy butter spread on it and a dash of thick cream.

I used to love the white sauce. My Mom always made it into a snowman. And I did enjoy seeing the pudding getting lit on fire. I don't have fond memories of actually eating it, though. Fruit cake either (she shudders).

Yes, I love it, and love making it, with the steaming going on for eight hours. We don't have it on Christmas Day because Mom always felt it was too rich after a big meal, so I think we'll have it on Christmas Eve instead. And, a little portion is all one needs.

I love it with cream. My Nan eats it fried in butter on Boxing Day, I think that would be too fatty/rich for me.

My New England grandparents made one every year. I havn't had this for years but I do like it. I wish everyone here who likes it and still makes it would adopt me. I know I am way too old for that, but some of the answers sound really nice.

No I can't stand it, because I don't like dried fruit. usually have a choclate or toffee pud instead just so I can have some brandy or rum sauce!

My wife makes the very best Christmas puddings in the whole wide world. She makes lots of them and gives them to friends and family. Everyone loves them, Me especially!
I can't speak for other people's puddings, but I love ours.
