I'm writing a short story for my Niece for Christmas,(she's 5 )a Christmas story of sorts,and have the following animal characters to name,I'd appreciate all the help you can give!Thanks very much-

What a wonderful Christmas gift! Are you doing pictures too? If not, leave space in the 'book' for her to draw the pictures. It will be a cherished memory for the rest of her life.

1. squirrels, 2 of them = Nut and Bolt

2. turtle = Michelle

3. cow = Mavis the Moo

4. black birds/crows, 3 of them = Shadrak, Meshak and Abednigo

5. pig = Mr Snout

6. coonhound /dog = Deefer (as in D for Dog - hey it's old, but she's 5 and probably never heard it before!)

7. rooster = Daybreak

1. Chip and Dale or Squeek and Screetch.
2. Slowpo or slowpoke
3. Mabel or Clair
4. Peep, Breeze, Tumble
5. Bacon or Hambone
6. Sniff or Coondog
7. Cockadoo or Cackle

Hope you can use some of these. I write childrens books and love making the names. Keep to the theme and make them catchy but easy to pronounce.

2. Horseshoe
3. Oreo (Our cow's name)
4. Eenie, Minie, & Moe (as in eenie,meenie,minie, moe, catch a tiger by the toe, but not using meenie for obvious reasons)
5. Porkchop, unless that is in bad taste, then Snout
6. Tracker
7. Leonardo (that was my Grandpa's rooster's name, he was very arrogant, until he tried to take on a Semi.)
