does my tasco stargate need batteries?

Only when its not plugged directly into a Zero Point energy Module and used for travel within the galaxy. Batteries alone are insufficient for travel to other Galaxies, and the ZPM must be attached and fully charged for there to be sufficient energy for a return trip.
