she not the first, second third or last 16 year old that is pregnant. she's just a celebrity. i do not think age has to do with anything when it comes to parenting. i think it is more about maturity and parental instinct. look at her sister 26 and can't take care of her two children. i was 18 when i got pregnant 19 when i gave birth to my first child and i was a better mother than a 30 year old woman. i think that jamie lynn needs to give this baby and herself as normal a life as she can. listen solange knowles was 17 married and pregnant and she's getting divorce at 21. keisha castle hughes was 15 when she got pregnant while filming the Nativity story. lets focus on up lifting this young woman because she's decided to raise her child instead of abort it and go on partying.

The thing is, most teenagers who get pregnant do not have the means to take care of a child. Jamie Lynne obviously does. Although she may be young, I am sure she is more mature for her age, living the life she does. Even so, I am sure that she will have plenty of people to help her raise her child properly.
Hr sister was at a 'proper age' to have children and look at what kind of mother she is. You can't judge what kind of mother she is going to be just because she is 16. You can be a good or a bad mother at any age.

no, she will not be a good parent for two reasons. first off, she is too young and is not mature and responsible enough to take care of a kid. second, her sister was a failure as a parent and everything seems to be coming from the parenting of her mother, who apparently didn't raise her two daughters well enough to make proper decisions. for god's sake, Britt. Jr. is only 16. what kind of message is she sending to teenager girls? she has admittedly reported she didn't tell anyone about it and tried to cover it up till she had time to consult with a friend or two. she didn't tell her mom right away about what happened right away on top of everything. its not really shocking about the age since kids are having kids at 13. scary yes, but it is happening. it is just something on her part, since she has celebrity status and teenager girls watch her on TV. that is why I say she is sending a wrong message.

People, people, if Disney can forgive Vanessa Hudgens for nude pictures, Nickelodeon (owned by the likes of MTV) will probably take this in as publicity. MTV will launch a reality show about her toils and troubles as a teenage mom. It's Cable TV after all.
She'll do fine. She seems to be more level headed than her sister. My sister got pregnant at 16 and it turned her life around in amazing ways.

Waaaaaaaaaaay back when, southern teen parentage was the norm. The only hope I find is that Jamie Lynn says she's raising the child in Louisana to give it a "normal" life. I don't think she has the problems that her sister does and she does have supportive parents, a supportive "baby's daddy" and the support of HIS parents. She could end up being the anti-brit-brit

I think it's hilarious that her mom had to put her parenting book on hold- duh- just what I want to raise- trailer trash daughters! Too bad- I thought there was hope for Jamie Lynn, but guess not. The only positive is that at least she can afford to have a child and hire some good help- because that baby is going to need it!

We're all human....and things happen for different reasons. Just because she is a celebrity doesn't mean she can't make bad decisions or mistakes. Hopefully she will be a good mother to her child and not follow in her big sister's foot steps. Having a child is serious business and it is also a blessing. I wish her well and hope she gets all the support she needs.

She may be "famous" but she's a young girl and there are a lot of teenage mothers out there. Just b/c she's on tv or whatnot doesn't mean it's going to be any easier on her. She's going to have to grow up fast just like any other pregnant teen. I just hope she takes better care of her's than her sister has.

She's prettier than Britney Sr. and I could see her being an all right mother just because she's not extremely out there like her sis. There's potential that JLS will become a hard partier like BS because she's not of age yet. Guess we'll have to see.
