I am one of those women with children. I just wanted to make it clear that I would never "rope a man into being a replacement dad and supporting us".
My kids' dad lives nearby and spends 50% of the time with them and is also contributing to their expenses. I work full time and have a good job, making more than the man I have been dating for the last couple of months. I own my own house.
I am dating a man, because I love him and because he loves me and my children. He appreciated spending time with us.
Very few single moms are looking for a man to take care of them and their kids.

Women with children are not like diseases...STAY AWAY. We're human too. In my case, I'm not looking for a replacement dad....my ex fills those shoes very well. But should I not be able to date because I have a past? Uuuuhhh no. Let your friend(s) do what make them feel good and try to support them on it.

I am engaged to a woman with a kid. The child has a father, I am not replacing anyone! It is exactly what the word "step-father" was created for. While her 3 year old and I do well together and he calls me dad, he knows who his father is and is with him every weekend. I had a couple friends who tried to talk me out of dating her in the first place, after they met her and got to know her they were all for it. While I am sure there are "those" single mothers out there, the majority are not that way! Wake up and pull your head out of your ***

I wouldn't be a friend if I tried to talk them out of doing things that would improve their life and the lives of others.

Merry Christmas

No, I try to make sure they understand all they are getting into and then support them in their decisions. It's their life.... I feel like they are happier knowing I'm there for them than having me ride their *** over something that really is none of my business.

Only three things would make me talk my friend out of dating a single mom: 1. She treats her kids badly(and him, I think I should just say she treats everyone badly). 2. He's only doing it for an easy lay(he should have a little more respect for himself and others). 3. I knew for a fact that she was just looking for a bank account.
