Yes, it is too early. And it is difficult to say a baby is female from an ultrasound no matter how old. What we look for is a penis, if there is one, then it is easy to say it is a boy (although that can also be wrong at times as well). The absence of a penis is almost impossible to determine for certain, because depending on the position of the baby during the ultrasound and the way they are sitting it may be difficult to say for certain.
Basically, any prediction from an ultrasound is not 100% certain, but we are usually more accurate than a 50/50 guess.

It is quite early to be predicted by ultrasound. Maybe it's possible.
There are blood tests available for about 400 dollars if you really must know the gender so early. They don't hurt your baby in any way. It just looks for the Y chromosome in your blood, which would mean you're having a boy. If it's a girl, the Y chromosome will not be present. I don't know anyone who has used these but they're around 95% accurate.. which really is a 1/20 chance of being wrong. I don't know if it's worth it.

Way too early, my friend had an early ultrasound done at 16wks and they said it was a boy so she did the nursery in all boy and painted it like a cabin, then at her 20wk ultrasound they informed her that she was having a girl so she had to start all over again, it was a girl in the end. I would never rely on an ultrasound gender prediction before 18wks. Good Luck!

I'm really not sure about 13 weeks. I had an ultrasound done at 15 weeks and you could tell that I was having a baby boy. You couldn't see his balls (sorry) but you could definately see his penis. His balls didn't drop until about the 20th week. If the tech had a really good shot between the legs, it is possible to say. Good luck and let us know!!

I wouldn't count on that, it might change! That is still VERY early, the little parts are just barely starting to develop. I wouldn't get too comfortable with it yet. I would wait for the next u/s and have them check again when the parts are more developed. Good luck!

It's too early to say for sure. However, if he/she had a good view of the genetalia and didn't see anything then it could be true! I found out at 17 weeks, but already predicted it by my gut feeling.
Don't buy pink yet...

It is probably a bit too early to tell through an ultrasound but you can find out through CVS or amnio testing...

The genital area doesnt even start developing until 18 weeks. The most accurate reading is after 20 weeks. at 13 weeks they all look like girls.
You can try this link, but it is really more for fun. Sometimes it is accurate but that is just purely by chance.
