SOH--> sin = opposite / hypotenuse
CAH--> cos = adjacent / hypotenuse
TOA--> tan = opposite / adjacent

All triangles have angles that add up to 180 degrees. You know that one angle is 90 degrees (since it's a right triangle). If you do not know another angle, you will have to do a little work.

If you do, all you have to do is subtract 90 and the other known angle from 180. That will give you the remaining angle.

Let a, b, c be the sides of a right triangle.

Let x, y, z be the angles, with z the right ange.

sin x = a/c
cos x = b/c
tan x = a/b

These ratios have one and only one angle.
