I do at Christmas time. I help serve lunch to the people staying in the local shelter the Saturday and Sunday before Christmas.

Yes, I do a lot of volunteer work....
Any time they need someone to bake for a bake sale at school or church my name is on the top of the list....
I cook for Mercy Meals...
I take the kids and we pick up trash (no pun intended) along the roads....
I volunteer at the school with the PTA....
I have given many hours to Relay for Life with the American Cancer Society....
I have volunteered helping the homeless, unwed mothers and abused children through my Women's Group at Church....
I have volunteered with the children at church countless times...
I have volunteered with some group homes for mentally ill, mentally delayed and also Autistic individuals...
Also, I have volunteered with Rural Resources...which helps find markets for the small farmers in Appalachia....and helps in growing indigenous plants for (such as ginseng) for commercial growth...
I have also volunteered with a recycling program in my area...
Not trying to sound like Mother Theresa of Calcutta.....But I have trouble saying no to a worthy cause......
I still remember the days of working my bottom off and getting a paycheck that looks like I sat on my bottom.....
Peace.

How can you get a paycheck from volunteer work?
I used to volunteer at a local private school every now and then but I stopped going there. Maybe I should start again.

omg that is too funny.
i know the feeling. if i worked OT in the ER then my paycheck was slapped with so many taxes, I was better off NOT working the OT.
and i do volunteer work, but i like for it to be on my terms and not uncles sam's. that lil fkr never even gets me anything for my birthdays.

I did for awhile. I taught crafts at several nursing homes, but currently, dealing with my blind 87 year old mother is the most I want to do these days. It takes all my time & energy.
