Christmas morning’s magic
Ribbons and bows with socks full of toys
Bring the joys of wishes come true
To many anxious girls and boys

Mountains of ripped apart paper
And bountiful times hide the family flaws
Then the last little box brings a smile
To the woman whose plays Mrs. Claus

As I lean back in my comfortable chair
I’ll wear my new tie and try on the gloves
Laugh and sing to the angel with wings
On a tree decorated with love

Would that all families could be this happy. Love is certainly the best decoration. Without it, what would be the use of decorating the tree at all? As for the poem, this would be wonderful in a children's book of poetry--have you ever thought of trying to publish poetry for children?

Yes, TD, I like it very much. I can see simpler times...when I was a child...when we celebrated Christmas the way it's supposed to be celebrated. Those were magical times, and it's a shame that so few young people see Christmas in the same way that most older people do.

Hi,

While I get it, that "anxiety" may exist, I might have used the word "eager" instead.

I might have expressed This, another way?

I’ll wear my new tie, trying on the warm gloves;
Laugh and sing with the angel, with outstretched wings
On a tree "trimmed" as always.... with abiding love.

Just my 2 cents

"HARPY" Holidays.

Nice. I love that moment too. But Christmas, to me, is all about smells.
