It's cracked and I was wondering if it just clips on or what. Thank you.

If you are asking about the exterior taillamp then the answer is it's not easy.

you have to remove the bumper to get at three lower bolts that hold the bottom of the taillamp assembly in. You also have to remove the interior side trim panel to get to the three nuts that hold the taillamp to the rear panel.

Its not easy to describe how to take the bumper off if you haven't done it before. The service manual has a picture of how to do it. You can stop by your Honda dealer and ask them for a copy of the picture on how to remove the bumper if you really want to try it (it will take two people to remove and install it properly) or better yet, ask them for a quote on replacing the lens.

This is one of those things you're better off paying someone else to do if you want it to look right after its done.

hope that helps

I'm not really sure what you mean by the rear light panel. If you're refering to the 3rd brake light that sits in the rear decklid, then it can be quite a chore.

You would have to remove the backseat, and the entire decklid to change the 3rd brake light. You have to do the same thing when you're trying to install rear speakers in the '01 Civic.

I know this because I had an '01 Civic, and that was the only way to get to the 3rd brake light.

I have a 97 Honda CRV and have a third brake light that doesnt work. this is the light that sits off the roof center and lights when the brake pedal is pressed. when i looked to see how to remove the black casing that surrounds the light, i saw that it could be removed by pressing on the sides. with the black cover off, i see a silver casing surrounding the light. this i couldnt remove, nor could i slide the light out the right side to see if i could replace the bulb; does anyone know how i could remove the bulb so i can replace the bulb if necessary?
thanks in advance!!!
