Question for all you "Saving Grace" fans out there..?

I still can't figure out what Grace's connection to the prisoner Leon Cooley is. I know that Earl is angel to both of them but what part is Leon supposed to be playing in Grace's "salvation"....or is SHE going to help him with HIS?

Grace and Leon are connected by Earl; apparently, from conversations Earl has had with Leon, he has come to terms with his "sins", but Grace has not. I know he was crucial in her believing that Earl was real. Maybe he's part of her acceptance of God as a higher spirit.
