Directv just send me a final bill, being that I switched to Dishnet.
It seems I owe them $ 0.00.
Will there be late fees if I don't send that out on time???

OMG that could take your credit score down quite a bit. My suggestion if you don't mind me giving it is you send them a check next day. It will be worth the extra money.

If you just send them a BLANK check they would probably send you a receipt. Hey, you willing to pay for a stamp at today's prices? Sit tight -- they know where you live.

Hang on to that proof of zero close out. In the future you may need to clear credit history with it. Take my past as a lesson on this one.

send them an envelope with a penny in it and a not that reads "I trust that this settles my account, please remit any overpayment in the form of a check and see that the account is closed."

you should receive the check for $.01 in about 6-8 weeks.
