It seems like everybody is learning to speak English in Europe. China and India each have more speakers of English than the U.S. does, and the demand to learn the language continues to grow. Will there ever be a time when the entire planet speaks a single language (English), either as a first, second, third...tounge?

the english language is already the world language!!!..."Will there ever be a time when the entire planet speaks a single language (English), either as a first, second, third...tounge?" people will keep on speaking english but they will NEVER forget their mother language! and no english won't be the only spoken language!!!....french..spanish and other languages are well known and everyone can communicate by speaking those languages!.....so it's not just english.
