A Walk To Remeber I suppose would come into what you're looking for.
Also I guess August Rush would in some ways (which by the way is an amazing film).
Another is What's Eating Gilbert Grape and perhaps Don Juan both with Johnny Depp, oh and Finding Neverland.
As for songs - sorry but that is really difficult as most songs only talk about love/heartbreak etc. but not true kindness.

"Pay It Forward" is a great movie about kindness. Definitely check that one out.

kindness? in this day and age? hmm well rent is pretty kind...and Hairspray is about diversity so not that many! srry
