I would like to make some nice machine embroidered hankies for some ladies at my church. What is the best fabric to use to get a nice-feeling, absorbent hankerchief?

I use Irish Linen for my embroidered handkerchiefs. I get them from an Amish store in the Midwest for a reasonable price. Linen is a classic fabric that only gets softer with time and lasts for many years. It's all natural.

Fine cotton would be the most classic fabric choice for this purpose.

I love egyptian cotton. They sell it with the muslins. It's soft and thin but absorbent at the same time.
