We all get the "aren't you getting big" comment - it's NEVER ok tell a women she's getting fat, even if she IS pregnant. Also, my personal favourite - "you're blooming" - meaning your sweaty and swollen!! What other rude things did people say to you when you were pregnant?

"Are you STILL pregnant?" I just want to slap people who say that it's like, well obviously, its not like I put a pillow under my shirt every damn day.

Also all those "your huge!" For some reason people think it is okay to tell pregnant hormonal women things like that. I dont know why, it's not like they would normally go to an overweight person and say "omg your a house!" So what makes it okay to say it to someone who is pregnant? I hate it when people say "you look so swollen" I just say "your hair looks so frizzy today" or whatever is wrong with that person. Then they look at you stunned and upset and I just tell them "well you want to be rude, I'll be rude too."

And someone said something about the MIL inviting herself to the u/s, I agree. My MIL did that. She didn't ask, as we were walking out the door she told us to wiat for her. Then she just assumed she was going to be in the delivery room when I had specifically said NOONE except hubby and me, and she was like "yeah and me." I had to set her straight.

Oh and I hate it when people lift up your shirt to see the belly. My MIL does that too! She's always touching me and I HATE being touched, even before I got pregnant I hated being touched, and she knows it but she still does it, then she tries to lift up my shirt. I'm like "wtf is the matter with you!"

ANd I hate it when people ask if you picked a name yet, and you tell them what you're thinking of using and they give you a look and say "oh I dont like that" I just say "thats good cause it's not gonna be your name or your baby."

I'm 5 weeks and 5 days- I haven't told a lot of people yet and I'm not showing (obviously). The comment that has really angered me so far is "Did you mean to get pregnant?"
I'm young- 20- but I'm married and we are doing pretty well for ourselves. Regardless of the situation really, that is just rude to say!

Well I am only two weks along, but I think that it is extremely rude to tell a pregnant woman that she has gotten fat, gained weight, etc. I also think it's rude to judge the woman's financial stability (or instability), or her marital status. It's emotional enough to be pregnant. We don't need any judgmental comments to send us off into tears. It's plain mean and rude.

We announced our pregnancy to both sides of the family on Christmas day last year so the whole family's where there. I had a cousin-in-law say "Well, there goes those hip huggers." I am very proud to say not only am I below my pre-pregnancy weight by 30 lbs! I am TWO sizes lower than the "hip-huggers" I had on this time last year! She was just jealous and I love showing off my great post-preggo body! Breastfeeding does wonders!

Two things my moms friends would say when they heard I was pregnant was "There goes the neighborhood" and "That's all we need, another Victoria running around"!!! But they are close family friends so it really didn't bother me that much.I was a terror when I was younger so I can see where they are coming from!!! LOL

Also my step dad always threatens that he is going to need to widen the door ways of their house to accomidate me but it is all in fun and I get a good laugh out of it!!!

For me it is not so much the rude comments, like you are big, but more so when they ask how you are sleeping or something and you say not well, they say...oh just wait it gets worse.....like they want it to be bad for you or something. To be honest this pregnancy hasn't been all that bad and I don't think I will ever say that to another girl who is pregnant.

People told me I was going to have triplets or your going 2 have a huge baby. and my favorite was you look like your getting ready to pop any day now and when they told me this I was only 7 months pregnant and no I did not have triplets and my babies were kind of big they both weighed over 8 pounds.
