a) do you think that there is an increase or decrease in teen pregnancy? My perception is that there is an increase in teen pregnancy because it seems to be more 'acceptable' these days. Teens are also having more sex than in the past, and although birth control is more available, I don't know that they're using it. b) do you think abortion is the most logical option? No. I think adoption is the most logical option. Best for the teen and for the baby. c) do you believe that teen mothers are irresponsible? I think that all teens are more irresponsible than adults (generally), as they've had less experience having to deal with the consequences of being irresponsible. It takes time and practice, it makes sense that they would be less responsible. d) do you believe that teen mothers are ruining there lives when having a child? No. It will make their lives more difficult. It's easier to wait to have children until you're out of school, but if you're in the situation - pregnant, it's up to the girl as to whether or not she can live with another family raising her biological child. Either way, they'll get through it and their lives wont be 'ruined', but typically for each person, one choice is better than the other. e) do you think that teens should practice abstinence? I do. When I was younger, I thought it was unrealistic, but I'd say now to at least wait until college because the consequences are just so hefty. And in high school (looking back on it now), it truly did not 'enhance' a relationship, it wasn't even that good, both parties are too young to really know what they're doing anyway and not likely to be experienced enough about how to be the most safe. College relationships I think can be different. f) what are your other thoughts on teen pregnancy? It's unfortunate any time a pregnancy is unplanned, but especially when it's someone underage who is not necessarily in a long term committed relationship. Tough for all parties involved.

I'm not a fan of teen pregnancy but You can't control what the guy does.... Yes there is such thing as a condom... I am 16 and If I was to get pregnant I would be happy and I would not put it up for adoption or have a abortion... Its not like I am trying to get pregnant but if it happens I would be really happy and not be mad at myself or the Dad.. That would just mean that I will have to get responsible and it might help me in the future....

There is so much to do out there and throwing a baby in the mix just complicates life. The baby will be resented. I know this from experience.

It's something that should be prevented. That's why I support real sex education, not that useless "abstinence-only, don't teach kids what condoms are" stuff.
