I would like to send my X-mas cards (bought a bunch at the dollar store) but with the price of stamps these days, it is a bit expensive.

I would like to send them all as COD for the stamp amount.

COD = Cash on delivery.. So basically the people that would receive the x-mas card would need to pay the 42 cents for the cost of the stamp in order to get the card. Plus, I'm not sure if I can request COD for 42 cents - especially for a stamp ... anyone know?

I don't think this would be acceptable. I'd rather get no card from someone than one that is COD. Why don't you just call everyone on your card list? You can tell them that you thought it would be a more personalized greeting than what can be found on a card. Or , just don't send out cards. People understand times are tight, and many people have stopped sending cards to save expenses.

You would be wasting the money on the Christmas cards because no one is going to pay for the C.O.D

Maybe send free e-cards to those who check their email.

A phone call is better than a card any day if you cannot visit the people you send cards to.

Unfortunately, hallmark and other corporations consider Christmas just another day to make profit from, if someone was to give me a card, I would prefer a personalized one that they made instead of one that was bought, especially if it was just a folded piece of paper with a picture drawn by crayons, (those are the only ones I considered sentimental and have saved)

Another note: us males usually can care less about Christmas and holiday cards; we would prefer something more personal like a phone call or email, a great big hug would be even better.

I would NEVER do that to people that I care about. So stamps are like 40 or so cents big deal, how many are you planning on mailing? 100?? If you couldn't afford the stamps to begin with you shouldn't have bothered buying the cards!

If your that cheep that you cant afford the stamps just put the recipients name in the return space and yours as the the address its being sent to. It will be returned by the post office to the return address for postage due. So they get the card and you don't have to buy the stamps.

If you can't afford the stamps then don't send any cards at all. Why not just send them an online Christmas card?

Don't send them with postage due. Just forget about it.

Merry Christmas,

It is tacky, you send the cards to show people you care, yet they have to pay to know that? Just buy some stamps.

Honestly if someone sent me a COD christmas card; unless I knew for a fact it had pictures, cash or a gift card enclosed, I would return it to sender.
