It has to be small and light. I can pay around £500. I'd rather go to a shop and buy than going online cos I wanna feel it before I buy it. Do you have any model in mind and a place I can buy it in London?

That's plenty to spend you don't need a fast computer to use diagnostic tools just the right software, but make sure the laptop you buy has a serial port!, I use a 5 year old laptop and a innovate lm1 to mesure AFR's, Hope this helps

Any decent spec laptop will do the job you just need to get an interface unit and software for it.
I personally use the ELM 327 interface which cost me £40 on Ebay and that will read and clear most fault codes.
