Those tyres look very good. I've replaced my mtb tyres with semi-slicks, which work very well on and off-road in the dry, and on-road in the wet (the semi-slicks aren't as good in the mud because there's a lower surface area to grip the slippery mud and I skid and wheelspin more. It's not to do with the tyre profile on the road - mud is a different problem). Full slicks might be more slippery in the wet but not more lethal on the road. They're not as thin as road bike slicks (which are pencil-width) so they should be a bit better at gripping the surface. They have the same pattern and tread profile as motorbike tyres so they won't be fab in the rain in the same way as normal tyres aren't fab in the rain. However, try them out *slowly* the first time in the wet and watch out for slippery surfaces such as drain covers, manholes and puddles. Your grip will probably be better with slicks than without, even in the rain, but as you're changing your tyres you'll need to learn how they behave differently before you can get the most out of them.
