Yes it does. Speaking from experience: I've had someone die in my arms. You are suddenly face to face with your own mortality. It is a very profound experience, even more so than seeing someone born; I've had that too.

You are life. How can experiencing something through the senses change life?
It could change your thinking as the memory may disrupt the way 'you' view the world. It can not touch LIFE. Life is beyond birth and death. Those are only symbols for experiences.

Some people can be influenced for a moment, they think about change then, once the moment is passed they forget. Other ,and they're few, can be influenced for life, and so they change since that moment.

It's a reminder of the fact:"past is done, there's no tomorrow"
throw all your woes away and seize the day baby!
be STRONG and brave.everything is expendable and time passes you by like it did to those in front of you.

You realize how closely death stalks us.
Watched a son go. Two young wives died in my arms, suddenly.
Ya, it changes things. You realize that you may never see tomorrow. Even as my 21 year old son.

It should. You then feel what you only otherwise think, namely, I will die too...and I better act on that knowledge NOW.
