We found out yesterday that were having a girl!!!! We have already decided on the name Rylin. Our last name starts with a D. At first we were going to use the middle name Renee. It is my moms first name and his moms middle name but now my husband likes the name Olivia for the middle name but her initials will be ROD and we think she might get made fun of in her high school years (we think people might say sexual stuff about it). We have not told our families the name so our moms wont be hurt that were changing it. Do you like Rylin Renee or Rylin Olivia better? Do you think she will get made fun of later for having the initials ROD?

I like the sound of Rylin Olivia better but Renee is also pretty, kids will find any reason to tease people but if it helps at all my little brother's initials are MAD and he turned it to his advantage and made a business name out of it!

My middle name is Renee and i love it, i would really suggest going ahead and naming her Rylin Renee. It sounds beautiful, and i'm sure she will love it.
Also, I'm positive that she will be made fun of in her middle school years if her initials are ROD. And even if she didnt tell anyone her middle name, people will find out. Middle names are always on the attendence lists and when kids have substitutes the subs often will say a kids middle name, instead of the first. Also, your daughter might be ashamed of the initials ROD, and you should really think of how your daughter will feel about that name.

I think Rylin Olivia sounds very pretty and I don't think the initials ROD would cause her to get made fun of. Considering that Renee is your mom's first name and your mother-in-law's middle name then maybe you should go with Renee. Rylin Renee sounds nice too. Another idea is maybe you could give your daughter 2 middle names? Then it would be Rylin Olivia Renee which I think sounds good too.

I think that both names are beautiful. My vote goes with Rylin Renee for a couple of reasons. Although Rylin Olivia is beautiful you are right kids can be mean and you dont want to put the ammunition in their hands. The family name Renee will not only mean something to your mothers but also to your daughter. It has always meant so much to me that my middle name was chosen to honor my great grandmother. Both of my children have middle names to honor important members of our family. You are so lucky that there is one name that can honor both of them!!!
Good luck and congratulations!

Might be best not to have ROD as initials. Maybe use a middle name that doesn't start with a vowel. Rylin Renee?

I would be more worried about people ridiculing Rylin than ROD. Rylin sounds like a prescription drug.
