Just replaced the battery in my 30 gig ipod classic. After watching video for a few minutes and maybe some music the battery meter goes down, then up, seems very strange. Is it possible the meter is not reading correctly? Appreciate any info

I had the same problem. You can recalibrate your battery by draining the battery. Then plug it into the A/C adapter to charge it fully instead of using the USB cable.

If this doesn't work you should not worry because your ipod will still work fine. Just a faulty indicator.

No need to send it anywhere, you can take it into an apple store and they will simply replace it no questions asked.

Send it in to Apple for repair.
