I don't believe this to be true. I believe he DOES want to win, but he has NO IDEA how to do it. He has never been accused of being cheap. He's eaten more coach's contracts and buyouts than I care to remember. Spent millions of his own money on the new stadium, given the team every modern luxury.

His problem is he is intensly loyal...to a fault. He has only really had 3 GMs in his history. THAT is the problem, he can't pick a GM. The first was Russ Thomas, and he was there for 20+ years. He couldn't build a team to save his life..but Ford loved him and never fired him, let him retire. Then Scmidt kept the seat warm for a couple of seasons until they tried the HC/GM combo in Bobby Ross. He had a melt-down and quite in the middle of winning season?!?! Then the Millen era. He loves Millen and won't fire him either.

So it's not that he doesn't want to win, he makes his decisons on GMs based on personal rather than business rationale, and won't let the people he likes go.

Yes most of the fans are that stupid in their loyalty. They just don't understand business end of it. You aren't going to get attention with your Million Millen walk-out(even if more then 10 people leave) because YOU BOUGHT TICKETS IN THE FIRST PLACE. STOP BUYING TICKETS. Stop SUPPORTING THE TEAM. Let them know you are BOYCOTTING THEM UNTIL THEY WIN. That will get the attention of the Ford Family faster then saying oh we are going to spend all this money on the team so you better win.

Lions fans are painfully aware, just as the Cardinals fans know that Bidwell is not interested in fielding a winner also.

Why are you bagging on Lions fans without having the balls to display your team affiliation? Don't be such a coward.

I think they realize

but that's no reason to abandon their team.

I've rooted for the Lions (second to the Dolphins) since I can remember
and I've known that since I was old enough to think rationally about the situation
