FYI - You'd better have a written contract with your neighbor. Gaming uses a lot of bandwidth and you are seriously affecting the neighbors system. Sooner or later he (or some geek friend of his) is going to see that some other computer is using his system. Just from his router, he can get the MAC ID of YOUR machine. This is legal evidence that you are committing a crime.
If he loads a packet sniffer on his machine, he can see when you are on, what you are doing, the sites you visit, the other computers you connect to and the traffic you are generating.
In other words - enough evidence to put you in violation of both Federal and (some) state laws. If you can afford to game, you can afford the connection
GET YOUR OWN.

The eaiest way is to get a wireless Ethernet converter or bridge, like the Buffalo Airstation (link below). That lets you connect up to 4 devices (game consoles, notebooks, desktop computers) with regular network cables, and they will share the same wireless signal.
Other companies make similar devices (like the Linksys WET54G), but most only connect one computer to a wireless network, whereas the Buffalo handles up to four.
Your neighbor can give you the security key needed to access his/her network. Just talk to them first and make sure they're cool with it, even if their network has no security- since it's a felony (that's right, not a misdemeanor) to use a wireless network without the owner's permission.

It appears that your laptop has a built-in adapter and 1) its has a connection set up for your wireless router, or 2) your wireless router has no encryption enabled and your laptop's wireless adapter automatically try to connect to your router. When you also have a cable (Ethernet cable) connecting your PC to the router, you have two network adapters trying to get an IP address. When everything is set up properly, that should work, but it's absolutely unnecessary and can get confusing because your Ethernet adapter looks like it's on a different computer to your wireless adapter, and vice versa. Don't do it. If you need a fast connection, as for network games, disabled your wireless adapter and use your wired connection. Otherwise, remove the cable and connect wirelessly.

Internet connection sharing enabled on your PC first...
Otherwise, your setup might look like this...
{wireless}
||
||192.168.2.101
(PC) - Must have both wireless and wired connection to work.
||-192.168.100.1
||
{Hub or switch}
||
{Game console} - Change the network settings in the game console to look something like this...
IP Address: 192.168.100.xxx
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: (the ip address of your PC's Local Area Network)
DNS: (the ip address of your PC's Local Area Network)
DNS Secondary: (the ip address of the wireless connection's gateway...which is the wireless router it is connected to... most likely 192.168.2.1)
good luck... hope your neighbor knows you are doing this...

use a wireless access point and/or router to capture the wireless signal, and to create an internal lan of your own.
