I noticed right after i get my depo shot my acne improves and essentially disappears, but towards the end of the 3 months before I'm due for my next shot my acne is at its worse. I thought depo provera was supposed to cause acne?

Might I add, I don't understand all these horror stories about being on the depo shot? I have been on it for three years with no side effects.

My acne actually improved also. Results vary, Im sure.
I guess it is like the period thing. Some people get it, others don't. Some gain weight, others don't.

I guess that's the ONLY real good thing about depo then. For you anyway.
Contraceptives treat everyone different, though a MAJORITY of women on depo provera have serious negative side affects and health risks because of this shot.
PLEASE... check out the reviews at http://www.rateitall.com/t-330-birth-control-methods.aspx and google "depo provera lawsuit" before getting another shot. Perhaps try another contraceptive that will help with the acne even better?
